Jeffrey J. Ryu, DMD
Dr. Jeffrey J. Ryu is dedicated to providing patient-centered dental care built on trust, communication, and individualized attention. His philosophy as a dentist is to listen carefully to each patient, understand their needs, educate them about their oral health, and provide treatment that is tailored to them as an individual. He strives to deliver the highest quality care possible while helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their dental experience.
Education & Training
Dr. Ryu earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1999. Before dental school, he completed his undergraduate studies at Carleton College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in social psychology and child development. His background in these fields supports his compassionate approach to care and his ability to connect with patients on a personal level.
Continuing Education & Professional Memberships
Committed to staying at the forefront of modern dentistry, Dr. Ryu regularly attends continuing education courses across the country. He has advanced training in dental implants, bone grafting, and obstructive sleep apnea treatment, allowing him to offer comprehensive solutions using effective techniques and advanced technology. He is also a member of professional organizations including the American Dental Association®, the Academy for Sports Dentistry, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the Memphis Dental Society.
Outside the Office
Dr. Ryu has been practicing in the area for 13 years. Outside the office, he is a proud father of two children, Amelia and Nathaniel. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, cooking and gardening — he especially enjoys caring for his tropical plants. Dr. Ryu also volunteers his time each year with Remote Area Medical (RAM), providing dental care to underserved communities.
